I'm sick sick sick.....

Blarg. I'm that annoying sick too. I am really light headed and feel like someone has been beating me.

But anyway.

I just got back from Athens. We went up there because mom went to the B52s concert. She went to high school with them, so they all got together in kind of an informal reunion type of deal. On Saturday, we went to the post concert party thrown by one of her friends, which was basically a gathering of a bunch of drunk ex-hippies. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

Best part was when the school....fluzy? walked in. Only a couple of people remembered her until one of them mentioned how she used to make out with this guy in the hallway all the time. Then there was a continual chorus of "Oh! That's who that was?!" Ooooh man.

Also, I met my step mother, or as we like to call her my "Viet-mom".
[For some of my slower readers, she's Vietnamese.]

She's also at least thirty years younger than my father. It's super fun when your step mother is ten years older than you. Especially when your father is 45 years older than you.

But anyway, he and I have always had a strained relationship [to say the least]. We haven't seen each other since I turned fourteen and wasn't legally obligated to go any longer. So it was an interesting experience. Awkward at some points, but it wasn't excruciatingly painful either. They've been married for over two years now, though, so I figured it was about time.

Now on to the best part of the weekend: shopping.

To be more exact, thrift shopping. I love thrift stores so much.

For about $50, I scored:

  • a pair of jeans
  • two dresses [one is Eddie Bauer]
  • a big sweater
  • two baggy cardigans [one is Lands End]
  • a sweater vest
And the grand pooba of all of my purchases?

I always have had a fascination with capes, especially ones with hoods.

This one is...perfect. Is it not awesome?

Well? I got one. Only mine looks more like this.
No hood...which is saddening. But probably more socially acceptable.
I paid $6 for it. So, I get it home, and when I was hanging it up, I notice one little thing. The tag.

Who is the designer of said cape?

Oscar de la Renta, that's who.

I bought an Oscar de la Renta cape for six dollars! I still haven't gotten over that.

I'll post pictures of my shit when I'm a little more heavily medicated feeling a little bit better.

May the force be with y'all.
